COTF Reflections

A Glimpse to the Future of Education at COTF
Our visit to the Classroom of the Future (COTF) recently was very significant part of our International Study Trip to National Institute of Education (NIE) Singapore. The role of information and communication technologies in everyday life is becoming increasingly important, as they allow us to develop new approaches to learning, life, work, consumption and leisure.
Seeing and experiencing it firsthand is an awesomely amazing experience for us educators. It gave us a foretaste of the future brought by the influx of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) in this generation and the next and it is something that is worthy of admiration and serve as an inspiration to us.
Along with this profound appreciation is my hope that someday, our country would also be going towards that level taking Singapore as a model. The COTF project is a living testament to the dedication and commitment of the Singaporean government in providing excellent and quality education to its citizenry- a powerful instrument in leading the nation to progress. They have invested so much for the development of empowered and engaged leaders of tomorrow.
Our students deserve also the same quality of education that we can give and it is our responsibility to provide them such that would bring out the best in the next generation. We need to aspire for this and if we join hands as educational leaders then, everything is possible.
I really enjoyed NIE Singapore and with (COTF) as one of the things worth remembering in this trip. Congratulations to the prime movers of COTF and to NIE for being one of the models of quality education using technology as one of its instructional tool! It was indeed a very rewarding experience and we hope that one day; we will again have an opportunity for another trip and I will surely tell my bosses to see it for themselves!
