Here we see a demo of how AR can be presented in different forms. Not necessary on marker cards as we know it, here a cube is used for a 'look into the box' prespective. This might be useful for looking into the 'innards' of everyday objects such as a TV set, in side a camera for example.

Get Fugu
Here is a demo of cross between Augmented Reality and Object Recognition Technology (ORT). This can be considered a simpler form of ORT where the software recognises logos without the aid of an AR marker.

AR in a commercial scenario
Handouts and brochures could be used with an AR web application to provide additional prespectives. Ultra cool idea as no software installation is required, and the AR object can be viewed from any browser witha webcam installed.

Augmented Reality Encyclopedia
This application of AR is useful to bridge the real and digital worlds. Newspaper and article clippings are collected in a portfolio, along with the AR marker, digital objects are 'collected' and placed together with related articles.
A useful reader will be to use a large (21"?) transparent 'silk screen' placed between the reader and the book. the silk screen provides the digital elemennt while the reader views the portfolio through the screen.
